Cast off your shackles sister suffragette!

89 years since the 19th amendment went into effect.
Makes me want to go home and watch Iron Jawed Angels.

My next coffee table

I want this. I want this. I want this.

Paradiso has to be my favorite store in Hamden. It is where Alex got my Christmas gift last year, the peacock print that I adore. Well I have always admired the pinball tables and finally looked them up.

I found his website & now I am even more set on getting one. Maybe not today or tomorrow, but someday.

Very much a 2L+

SO evening students do not get the normal labels of 1L, 2L, 3L because we aren't normal. I am pretty sure we are all insane in some capacity. The mantra goes: 1L they scare you to death, 2L they work you to death & 3L they bore you to death. Although I just started my 3rd year at UB I am still a 2L. (I made the big grown decision of taking 5 yrs this spring & still sort of grit my teeth about it) ANyhow, for the first time in my law school education it is feeling manageable. I must have hit some plateau. I am not sure if I just got used to this frantic pace or it has actually gotten easier. Either that or something horrible is about to happen.

I had my last supper at Peter's Inn. It was superb. Duff & Company came in right after we were seated. I tried to be aloof as I waited for the restroom right next to their table but all I really wanted to do was be nosy and listen in to their conversation. The won best restroom in city paper ... you will just have to see it for yourself. It was pretty special.

Quarter Century Cliche Crisis

I have accepted 25 now, I think.

I missed the metoer shower, but with the help of friends I have to say I enjoyed myself. Yes, there was a minor freak out leading up to it, but I think I have come to terms.

I celebrated with Old Boy, my birthday buddy & bartender at the Wharf Rat on Tuesday. Offically 25 at 12:09am.

Then had a lovely group for Pazos. I am pretty sure it would not have been all of the guys first choice BUT it was a very lovely gesture.

Friday I took a half day & plan to get a Philly Steak, possibly some art, & then more Rat.

abortion! ABORTION!

Such a dirty dirty word. Now I feel like it is akin to playing the 'penis' game. People say the word in soft murmers. People talk more freely about prostitution which isn't legal. Remember abortion is in fact legal in the United States. I got upset last week because I was reading too many depressing articles about abortion.

I guess I had gotten started by re-reading the article about the little girl in South America, whose family was excommunicated when they helped her get an abortion. The Catholic church had really tried to sweep this one under the rug. It is gross human behavior.

Then I read about how FOX refused to air the Family Guy episode where Lois contemplates getting an abortion.

After that I got a little more serious and read up a bit more about the Health Care Plan hold up about abortion. (I will not go into my thoughts about the 'death panels', that is not even worthy of debate) I wish old white men would stop worrying about my internal organs. I had read a Ginsberg quote the week before that said “There will never be a woman of means without choice anymore. That just seems to be so obvious," she explains. "So we have a policy that affects only poor women, and it can never be otherwise, and I don't know why this hasn't been said more often.” She is too right.

Followed up by terrible decision to read The Last Abortion Doctor, a great piece by Esquire magazine. I started crying. I had gotten myself so worked up. I hate all the anger out there.

I am honestly about people having the choice.

Curvy Mad Girl Crush

I feel it is safe to say I have found a new idol in the hollywood circuit and her name is Christina Hendricks. I dressed up as her character, Joan Halloway for 2008 Halloween. I used to have a thing for Scar-jo but have just found her more annoying as of late.

I really enjoy having a curvy girl in the spotlight (and not the plastic push up, blonde, squeezed & sucked type). I also sort of love that she has this funny guy on her arm & seems pleased as punch about it. Also Also I think she has a fun style & might teach me a thing or 2 how to work with my curves. Her comments to the media seem sincere and honest and I hope she continues to shine.
