Charleston in January

South Carolina is crazy, but alluring.

Went down south to see Abba Zabba during the off season. Rain day one but overall what a pretty city. Started off with the always lovely corner mexican joint with huge margs. Food was a big theme. The next day we had some super subs at Jersey Mike's. Followed by a horse drawn carriage ride and tour with Carson. It was fun to get an overview of the city. We also stumbled upon a wedding and some bagpipes. Carson did not like that so much.

High Cotton was on the menu that night. It was nice to get fancy with the publishing ladies. I got my fried green tomatoes (fancy style) and chocolate fix.

The next day it was over to Sullivan's island and Poe's. It was fun to see a Baltimore native also spent some time in Charleston. They had a lot of neat Poe pictures and paintings. After a short walk on the beach we went back downtown to the Calhoun House. The place was crammed with antiques, in the victorian style. I constantly felt like I was going to break something. This was followed by a relaxing evening, some football, some Sushi & Up.

Our last day, Phantom and I parked at the end of the peninsula and walked up to the market. We peeked into little shops and museums too cheap to actually pay admission. Walked through Charleston's oldest cemetery and ended up at a delightful little bakery, Baked.

ALso I learned that the signers of the Declaration of the Independence did it geographically. Take a look next time, it starts from the south aka Georgia and works it's way up, left to right.
Also I want a fancy camera ... and time to learn how to play with a fancy camera.

  1. Abba Zabba, you my only friend!

Did I say that yet? It is the only thing I can think of when you mention Abba Zabba.
